The daughter of wealthy celebrities, Baby Blue Ivy’s newborn pics are the talk of social media. We should be asking ourselves why does she, a baby born with a silver spoon in her mouth, deserve to receive more attention than babies injured or killed by bombs, missiles and bullets, hunger, or inadequate access to basic needs?
Social media has never been flooded with such concern about innocent children killed by drone attacks, missiles, or bombings. The message is simple, we don’t care about poor babies who aren’t born into privilege and wealth. It’s obvious what Americans find important.
